The PURE Strategy

Position. Unify. Reinvent. Execute.

A Reinvention Strategy to Secure Your Company’s Future

Critical Keys To A Successful Business
The fact is that all businesses eventually become commodities.
Even yours. Unless you drastically change your competitive set.
And so completely change the competitive landscape that
you make your competition inconsequential.

PURE Strategy brings you to an entirely new level of thinking.
About your business. About your industry.
And your day-to-day business will never be the same.

The PURE Experience

A customized two-day immersive workshop for your key team members.

In this highly competitive environment, there are four factors that
must be addressed for your business to achieve sustainable success.
Our PURE Strategy process focuses on each of these critical steps:

• POSITION: Five new lenses to envision the reinvention of your business.
Author a strategy that your team stands behind with unified vision
and commitment.

• UNIFY: Create a unified team that understands and owns the vision.
Learn how to work together to achieve maximum results.

• REINVENT: Define a Brand that fulfills the new strategy
for maximum market relevance

• EXECUTE: Build a blueprint for implementation

"The significant problems we face cannot be solved at the same level of thinking we were at when we created them."

                                                      —Albert Einstein

2

POSITION: Create a strategy to eliminate competition

Why?
Your successes of the past may make you obsolete in the future.
Competing in a marketplace while using the same strategy as your competition won't work long-term.
Your company must make strategic moves to not only survive but to also thrive.
The most important strategic move is to so distinguish your business from the competition that they become irrelevant.

How?
By thinking so differently about your business that you will surprise yourself. And the marketplace.
By throwing out the rules you currently compete by and changing the competitive landscape.
By strategically changing the way you go to market.

Sounds great. But how do we do that?
When you look at your business in ways you have never thought of, great possibilities emerge.
Through our process you and your team can literally visualize each new option as well as its value and impact on your business model.
What used to take months to visualize and weeks of planning, can now take a day.

3

UNIFY: Create a unified team that understands the vision and how to best work together to implement it.

Why?
A unified team is more efficient and effective.
When everyone understands the vision, there is more cohesiveness in how it is communicated both internally and externally.
Everyone has strengths and weaknesses. We help you design your team to play to each person's strengths.

How?
By authoring a shared vision of the new strategy that everyone owns.
By understanding each person's behavioral style and how to leverage individual strengths.
By combining opposite strengths and weaknesses to team up to get a great result.

Sounds great. But how do we do that?
By using a behavioral assessment tool that will give you insights into yourself and your teammates.
By plotting out where each team member falls on a behavioral map to see who should team up and who is best at what tasks.
By a fun process called ideation and word-mapping that allows your team to construct the language you will use to talk about your new brand.

4

REINVENT: Define a Brand that fulfills the new strategy for maximum market relevance

Why?
Because you now have a new market position and you need a brand identity and execution to reflect it.
Because your brand promise and delivery must be relevant and sustainable.
Because just as your new business model must differentiate you from the competition, so must your brand identity.
Because your identity and how it’s executed fulfills your new brand promise.

How?
By determining the best way to communicate your brand to your audiences.
By clearly defining your brand DNA—build a sensory-rich experience that creates a positive and memorable emotional connection with your target audience.
By identifying your core brand dimensions that make your brand relevant and sustainable.
Your core dimensions contain the essence for all messaging for all of your audiences.

Sounds great. But how do we do that?
By using a unique process called IdeaMapping that extracts best thinking from your team.
By surrounding yourself with verbal and visual options and selecting what best conveys your brand experience.
By creating a unique and common language to articulate your brand.

5

EXECUTE: Build a blueprint for implementation

Why?
Because the best strategy in the world is worthless without the action to put it into place.

How?
By creating a blueprint for implementation.
By setting specific, measurable goals and action plans to achieve those goals.

Sounds great. But how do we do that?
By defining responsibility and accountability.
By writing an action plan that spells out what needs to be done, who will do it, by when it will be done and how much time and money it will take.
And by setting up a tracking system that is bullet-proof.

How The PURE Experience Is Unique

The right strategy without proper execution is not useful.
Proper execution of the wrong strategy leads to failure.

The PURE process first defines the ideal strategy. Then it
aligns the team around that strategy and defines the proper
action for implementation. It takes the whole package to
create sustainable success.

The PURE Leadership Team is comprised of Nan O'Connor,
Vanessa Rose and Russell Noe. Together, these three
visionary business strategists have over 75 years experience
in Strategic Marketing and Advertising, Corporate Coaching,
Calculated Sales Programs and Creative Direction.
